Poem of the Week #12

Here's a new poem I just recently wrote, check it out:

Have I lost all standards then?
Given up my only faith?
That love is something special and
Nothing else can take its place?
Should I follow my brain instead?
Reasoning away all desire
Listening to what’s in my head
And ignore the heart’s burning fire?
So many choices I could make
They overwhelm all that I am
There’s only one path I will take
But will it mold me into a man?
My quest to cast off this ignorant shell
Has left me at these crossroads
Looking over the views I held
And all the options my life holds
Can I follow heart and ignore mind?
Or think away all passion and romance?
I guess I’ll leave reason behind
And give our love an unbiased chance.
