Poem Of The Week #29

Here it is, a new week, a new poem. Enjoy.

Sometimes you wish for so much more
Though you know it will never come
Sometimes its hope you wish for
Though you know your time is done
Sometimes you wish for the best
Though you know it isn’t true
Sometimes you crave happiness
Though the pain just isn’t finished with you.
Sometimes you want it to be better
Though you know it’s just a lie
Sometimes you want to be with her…
Though you know those last words were a goodbye
Sometimes, we can’t have what we desire
Though the world should be fair
Sometimes, our minds are set on fire
Though we really just don’t care
Sometimes, life shits on our parade
Though we try to make things right
Sometimes, it’s all just a façade
Though we put up a tremendous fight
In the end, what is left of life?
Nothing, nothing but memory
Despite you giving me this strife
I’ll always cherish the gifts you gave me.
